I think only time will tell if these are the perfect vitamins, but I like their packaging, with three tablets in a small pouch which makes dosing easier. Definitely take them on a full stomach!

After doing a little research about our good Dr, I elected to give these a try. As his book(s) will tell you, vitamins support good health and are just a part of great health. Yes, I have noticed a difference in taking these. Subtle but very positive. I am on my third order and my family on board for better health. Recommended. I bought these for vacation and conferences when I need something that ports easily. I have not used these packs but I take the individual vitamins and the rock. A+. I hear complaints about how big the pills and they are big so avoid if that is a problem or cruch up and add to smothies. A+ and on sale.

These multi-vitamins are great, especially for the cost. I was looking for a vitamin to start taking that wasnt expensive and Centrum just makes my stomach hurt. When I found these I initially thought to myself that they were probably low quality because the label looks like its out of the 80's. But after thinking more about it, and having used a TwinLab product, Amino Fuel, for awhile I decided to go with them. TwinLabs makes pretty good quality stuff for the price it is sold at.After I started taking these for the first week or so I could definitely tell a difference in how I felt throughout the day. I just felt better, more awake and less lethargic. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a multi-vitamin.

Good but missing stuff

I had a few deficiencies that needed fixing, I am not particularly fond of OTC vits. especially the gel cap ones as they often contain porcine gelatin.. this one contains bovine gelatin (I called the company to confirm) It was difficult to tolerate in the beginning and still if I take it on a light stomach (i.e with a cracker and juice) as opposed to a meal, it induces severe nausea and a miserable feeling that I feel the need to lean back a bit and close my eyes until the feeling subsides. Now the positives which are plenty starting with me not succumbing to severe depression for which I was prescribed some SSRI given my apprehension of pills that mess with brain chemicals and a thorough investigation on the ills of anti-depressants and how they fared compared to st. John's and placebo I figured the best choice for me was to find another approach to deal with the blues and I think the B complex in this vits. meets with the needs and even exceeds them, plus folic acid which any woman of child-bearing age thinking of becoming pregnant should be on at least a month in advance of conception. I am not quite there yet but I feel much better than where I started.I am not quite sure that this has fixed my vit D deficiency given my G.P prescribed a dose in the thousand, I figured that eventually it will square out given that this product contains 100% vit D at the 400IU range. (and it is a fat soluble vitamin) .. in my humble opinion it can be made better by adding the daily dose of Magnesium, calcium, phosphorus combo, but given how large those pills are and that I have to take them twice a day to meet with the recommended dose (and in some brands 5 pills instead of 2) I'd say it is near impossible to have fit them in one daily gel caps.I think this is an excellent product over-all.. I am not sure that vitamins have any outcome on longevity but they certainly do impact the quality of life, especially when something like iron or vit. D deficiency can really have some adverse affect on the day to day living.Yes I recommend this brand.. I think it is also quite a generous portion so you will get your money's worth.. I read here that they use pharmaceutical grade ingredients, I haven't personally investigated that, but I think that would really make this product ideal!

Very Hard on the Stomach

This multivitamin causes me to throw up. I've been taking gummi vitamins and Floradix before I tried to make the switch to this more affordable multi + iron.The first morning I thought that throwing up was a fluke. But this morning, sure enough--5 minutes after taking the vitamin and while I was making my oatmeal, I had to run to the bathroom and throw up. I'm definitely not pregnant. I haven't felt nauseous at any other point during these two days. The vitamin is the only change. What a drag.

If you take this - take 260-360 mg Magnesium

While this chewable has a good flavor (similar to a fruit tums but a little tasier) - I am giving it only one star because of its low Magnesium Content. Most doctors (at least the competent ones) recommend taking 1/2 to 2/3s the amount of Magnesium in miligrams with Calcium. This one has only 40 mgs of Magnesium (it should have 300-400 mgs). The Calcuim does not get abosobed without adequate Magnesium. I learned this after I purchased - so if you take this - take some additional Magnesium. The Vitamin D, Zinc, and Copper are good - but the critical one - Magnesium is not sufficient with this dosage of Calcium.

I take calcium supplements every day and have tried several brands. I have found this to be a good product that has helped me restore calcium back to the necessary levels for good health. I was found to be defficient in calcium a few years ago but am now where I should be in my diet.

Improved our baby's iron count 11 points!

Our child was exclusively breastfed during her first year so our pediatrician recommended either Trivisol or Polyvisol with iron. I think the earlier one star reviewer may have been talking about the terrible smell and taste of polyvisol because she/he is right, it just plains smells bad (like very strong medicine smell) and my baby does not look forward to taking it. Trivisol on the other hand smells fine and my child actually opens her mouth almost like she is expecting a treat, so I would stick with the Trivisol unless you have a specific need for Polyvisol.Our child's hematocrit count went from a substandard 28 to an excellent 39 after just 6 weeks using the Trivisol! That is just one easy dose per day. So I have to give this 5 stars because we really haven't changed anything in our child's diet except for adding Trivisol.They make this with iron and without so be careful when ordering to specify with iron if your child needs the extra iron...

I have yet to find a way to get my breastfed son to take these vitamin drops. They taste and smell absolutely rancid. I tried them myself after he repeatedly spit them out and once threw up the contents of his stomach after taking these (he does not do this otherwise at all). They were gross. Really, really gross. You couldn't expect an adult to take these, much less a child. I also theorize that the high iron content may upset his stomach. I cannot take a multivitamin unless I have a large meal, as the iron makes me feel nauseous. I would love to find some vitamin drops that taste better. My pediatrician told me that babies like these-- that they are sweet? Another reviewer mentioned that they may have changed the formula...? Well, the bottle I purchased mid-September 2009 tastes TERRIBLE. Yuck! If you can find another alternative, I'd love to know. I would NOT recommend these. Good luck getting baby to swallow/keep these down.

My babys doctor recomende I get these because babys need more vitamin D. I couldnt find them in any store so I bought a 3 pack. Honestly I forget to give them most of the time. They do have a funny smell and my son does make that "sour face" and shake his head when I give him them. I have been squirting a dropper full into his baby oatmeal. This seems fine.

This has been a go-to product for our 3 children. All 3 were breastfed, the last was actually anemic because he would spit the stuff out so we got pretty lax about giving it. But as he became more accustomed to solids, he actually swallows it without a fuss. And yes, his anemia has gotten better with more iron-fortified cereal & this product. Also, it has the vitamin D recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. On a practical note, when this solution gets on clothing, the stain comes right out; Poly Vi Sol has B vitamins which stain black . . .permanently.

noticed a bit of difference

I bought these bills coz my right eye sight was bothering me. It was a bit blurry and irritated and my doctor recommended I buy these vitamins.I take these vitamins daily, but not sure if they helped with anything. My eye vision is a bit better, but I also sleep a lot more now, which I think is the main reason for the improvement.Also, the recommended dosage on the bottle is 4 bills. However, taking 4 bills give you 573% of Vitamin A, 753% of Vitamin C, 1333% of vitamin E and 464% of Zinc. Now, I am not a doctor, but I think anything in excess is not good. So, I only take 2 bills a day.

I've been having problems with inflammation in one of my eyes, so along with the prescription eyedrops I've been taking (which, so far, haven't been very effective) I thought it might not be a bad idea to take some vitamins specifically for my eyes.When I ordered these I was in a little bit of a panic and didn't really read the vitamin contents as closely as I should have (actually, they aren't included in the Amazon product listing, so you have to go to the Bausch & Lomb website for a complete vitamin list for this product.)After receiving it I realized that every vitamin that's included in this product, with the exception of the lutein and the omega-3, is already in my multivitamin in larger amounts. So basically I paid $27 for 100 softtabs with 6mg of lutein and 150mg of omega-3 in each one. That seemed a little pricey to me so I costed it out:Buying lutein by itself is much less expensive than this product (under eight bucks for 100 6mg softtabs or about .08 a tab.) A quality omega-3 is about .05 for a 1000mg tab (the B&L vitamin has only 150mg of omega-3 so with the other omega-3 I'm paying less than .01 for the equivalent of 150mg.)So, by not being a more observant shopper I have inadvertently paid .27 a tab for about .09 cents worth of vitamins. Ouch! I will kick myself for the next 100 days that I pop one of these in my mouth.I'm sure these are very good vitamins, just a little expensive for what you are getting. If you don't care about price, these are probably a great, convenient option for you. But if you are a frugal soul like me you might want to buy the lutein and omega-3 separately and take them along with your daily multivitamin to the same effect for about a third of the price.One other thing and this is a just nit-pick, but if you were designing a package for a product intended for people over 50 with eye problems wouldn't you use something a little larger than a 4 point font? I can't even read this bottle with my readers - I had to actually break out a magnifying glass... I just want to thank the 20 year old package designer at B&L for making my day a really special one!

I was previously taking Preservision with Lutein, but I don't like taking pills, so decided to try these. These you take once a day as opposed to the Preservision, which is twice a day. My mother has macular degeneration, and since I seem to be following in her foot steps rather closely where ailments are concerned, I thought I'd better start with the eye vitamins. Probably won't know much for some years yet, but if I'm still around 10 years from now, I'll try to remember to add a postscript to this review. :)

Protect your eyes with this product. I think it works; I take it and another similar eye vitamin product and eat at least half a raw carrot every day. The light flashes that I have experienced and the "floating debris" have diminished and actually no longer occur. You don't get a second chance with your vision; I would strongly recommend this product.

I love Animal Cuts, I've tried other multi vitamins and used a generic pack type vitamin and blah. These do include large pills so if you have trouble swallowing pills these might not be for you, but if you're looking for a complete assortment of vitamins/minerals then you can't go wrong with these.

22 horse pills, gave me a mild energy boost nothing more. Your liver will work overtime trying to digest so many pills. A strong cup of coffee and 2 mutivitamins worked better.

Saw great results - more energy and more muscle mass put on once I started using, without modifying my existing program or diet in any way. Downsides: they sort of smell - if you are traveling you need to put into a ziplock bag those packets that you are bringing with you, or else the smell of them will permeate your luggage; they are horse pills - significantly larger than the typical tablet; some of the elements they include are in such small amounts to have little effective impact - seem to be more there for marketing than actual physical benefit i.e. COq10.

Low dose per capsule

Just so you know, according to the Vegetarain Society, the RDA for Omega 3 is 2-3g. This means you need 4-6 capsules of the product daily making 18 daily doses per bottle. Nevertheless, this is comparable in cost to plain Flax speed oil.

Great Vegan Source for Good Cholesterol and Omega-3!!

One of the only vegetarian flax-oil filled capsules I could find! Most other capsules are made of gelatin! The other alternative is to get flax oil in a bottle and take it by the spoonful - yuck! Well you can also put it on salads and stuff, so it may not be too bad, but I find the capsules much easier!I'll find out if it's working when I have a blood test after a month or two to see if my good cholesterol (HDL) levels have increased. My good cholesterol level was extremely low on my last blood test. This is partially due to be being vegan/vegetarian. My blood test showed am a fairly healthy vegan besides this and having low vitamin D, for which I am taking 2000 IU of D2.

I love this product and have been using it for 5 years since I became a vegetarian and wouldn't use anything else. I take 7 pills with my other vitamins in the morning and 7 at night with other vitamins and so does my husband who is also a vegetarian.

It's virtually impossible to find capsuled flax seed oil without gelatin. When I didn't really know (or rather didn't really want) to care that I was ingesting gelatin, I took flax seed oil capsules that did wonders for me. I remember having so much energy, never getting sick and just feeling great when I had it.Recently, I've become more careful about what I eat and didn't want to have gelatin in my diet (I am vegetarian). I started purchasing raw flax seeds and incorporating a tsp or so in my food. The effect of that was nowhere near what I experienced with flax seed capsules. Also, the caloric value of the seeds itself was pretty ridiculous compared to the capsules. (I take 3 capsules and it's just about 20 calories)I was ecstatic to find Deva's vegan flax seed oil supplements. I immediately ordered this on Amazon (free super saver) and it literally arrived in 3 days! I've had 3 capsules everyday since. I've been able to work out for hours without feeling tired, I feel more alert during the day, I feel well...I honestly feel like I could conquer the world. cheap vegan source of omega-3s

Flaxseed oil is a great vegan source of omega-3 fatty acids. When purchased in a bottle, it normally must be refrigerated and goes bad in a few weeks, but these pills take away the hassle by packaging the oil in vegan cellulose capsules. I have read widely varying estimates of the RDA for omega-3 fatty acids, so I just take one capsule a day, which contains 550mg of alpha linolenic acid (omega-3). This costs me only 10 cents a day to have the health benefits of omega-3s!
