Very Poor Quality Construction

I ordered this unit as a Christmas gift for someone but it arrived broken (one lamp failed to light). After careful inspection I discovered one of the connectors used to attach a cylindrical electrical component positioned under one bulb was cracked.I then proceeded to call the customer support number appearing on the website but finally gave up after numerous attempts over several days. I then tried to contact them by email and was finally able to contact them. After playing email tag several times in which I fully explained the problem and even included a detailed picture for them to see the actual cracked component. I wanted to make sure they understood precisely which component was defective.They then agreed to send me a replacement unit. After waiting about a week and a half the new unit arrived. Alas, I was finally ready to try out the new unit. The only problem was one bulb failed to light again! After close inspection on the replacement unit I discovered the exact same cracked piece only with a different bulb this time!!! I was absolutely stunned that they replaced a defective unit with another defective unit (i.e they never even tested the replacement unit)!My advice to people is to be very careful with this product. The quality of the electrical components and construction is poor. It was absolutely clear to me that these units were not damaged in shipping they were broken due to poor design and cheap construction. I also advise people that have units that so far appear to be "working" examine the attachment for the cylindrical components I described to see if they are loose or damaged. Yours my also be cracked but may not have separated enough yet for the electrical connection to fail.As for me I returned the second defective unit and told them that based on the poor quality and lack of controls I no longer trust the device and will look elsewhere.

Jump through hoops to return it....

I bought this product, and it came to me broken. I couldn't get one of the bulb "sockets" to work, nomatter what bulb I put in it. Even though it came to me damaged, I still had to pay for shipping to return it, and was out my inital shipping costs too. They asked for all sorts of stuff to return it, short of my first born child (invoices, order number, write a return number on the box, tracking number, packing slip). However, I did use it even with the broken bulb, and it seemed to help for the 3 days I had it. It is a lot of money, and the bulbs to replace it are expensive too. I just got on craigslist and bought a tanning bed for less money. That clears up my face just as well. Good luck, and if you get it just hope yours works!

Scientifically proven, but flawed in design

Cons after years of ownership: 1. The bell. When the timer goes off, inches from your face, and incredibly loud, jarring, and unnecessary mechanical bell goes off to alert you that the very very bright lights right in front of your face just went off. This feature is the stupidest oversight I've ever encountered as a consumer. I've disassembled the unit as far as I could and couldn't get at the bell, but trust me, you will hate it soon if you buy this. The loud mechanical egg-timer ticking sound isn't that great either, and why does the timer go up to 30 minutes when the manual warns not to exceed half that time? Probably because an overstocked egg timer manufacturer in China gave them a deal they couldn't refuse.2. It would be lovely to have a horizontal stand so you could lie down for 15 minutes instead of face a desktop for 15 minutes. I made my own that I use with a fan, but it's far from perfect and I don't use this thing much anymore. For the price and what you get, they should include one.At the core this really is a great product, and the lights do in fact make a significant difference in acne and complexion. It is wicked overpriced and I'm sure they'd make plenty of profit selling it for half the price. I would really like to see them fix the timer, and would be glad to give it a very nice recommendation after that happens.

I have been researching the power and results given for the light therapy concept. I had previously purchased the pretika pulsating light therapy wand and was pleased-but this is magnificent. I am 47-have light adult acne compounded by roseacea-i have been using this light box for 5 days and see a remarkable difference. My skin texture has changed dramatically as has the redness. Hope they don't quite making it!

Worth every penny an more. In combination with diet, a few other products I use, light therapy and supplements I take I can say it must do something because I was not blessed with youthful or nice skin, quiet the opposite. As a 45 yr old I had suddenly aged 5 years ago! So I did research, tried things and this is one of them that has stuck. I've used it for 4 years now. A little dab goes a long way. I get about 2+ months out of a bottle, and I use it on my neck as well. It's very light, not to heavy or greasy and doesn't make my acne prone skin break out. This has reduced age spots (darker patches) an fine lines, even helped reduce some heavier ones. Skin feels fresh an clean yet when applied. So Light I even use the moisturizer over it, but don't need to unless wearing makeup. It's come down ALOT in price since I first started using it 5 years ago so I stock up (I may just use it everywhere! LOL). P.S. I started using AminoGenesis as one of the first things I did in my regime an added the others. I stopped using this looking for something less expensive, but came back to it. And as luck will have it the price has dropped thank goodness.

Not as Wonderful as Advertised

I have taken very good care of my skin, starting when I was a teen. I've taken precautions against the sun, moisturized and used sunscreens; I am 60 years old. After hearing raves about this product, I purchased a container and followed manufacturer's directions and used it for ~30 days. I saw and experienced no changes in my facial skin, so I used it on the skin of my hands. Again, no difference pre- and post- application, trial period ~15 days. I'm back to using Lancome and L'Oreal products.

A Little Dab Will Do Ya

I'm in my early 30's with monthly breakouts and have noticed sun damage and fine lines creeping up. I've tried the product in the past, but really didn't see much result. However, this time I have seen the sun damage and fine lines lessen on my face and chest. A little bit goes a long way! I've been using the product for about 3 weeks and am really pleased with it. I wear mineral make-up and have to be sure the product dries before applying that type of make-up. I also wear a light moisturizer over it because I live in an arid climate. I should also note I now use a Clarsonic brush, which may be helping with absorption of the product this time around.

I purchased this a little over 2 weeks ago, and so far it seems to be an excellent product. The only problem is I didn't actually purchase it from Amazon but through one of their suggestions, and I had to sign for it and missed the mailman the first time he brought it. Next time I will make sure I purchase it from Amazon, but I am a new customer and wasn't aware of what I was doing.

Regarding this shaver, there's only one thing I'm certain of: They didn't test it. Or, if they did, I'd like to know what they tested it on and why they passed it anyway.Right out of the package it wouldn't sit in the charger properly. I had to position the shaver "just so" in the base and use a toothpick to hold it there. I finally got sick of it falling out so I disassembled the base and had to file down the contacts (there appeared to be a coating of some kind on the contact points) so it would charge.Then I actually used it and it worked perfectly on a 1cm by 10cm area. That's all it would cut at one time. The majority of the time I had to keep going over and over the same area twisting and tilting the shaver.Bottom line: Steer clear of this dog.

Almost worthless

At the time of purchase I had some hopes for this, seeing it had neither good nor bad reviews, hoping it just ot be a new item - I was wrong.It comes in a very nice and presentable case and boasts of free lifetime replacement blades as well. This would be a fantastic thing if the blades were any good.Even after fully charging the new shaver it does not shave. You can repeadily go over a portion of your face 2, 5, 10, or 20 times - only to experience a couple of half-cut hairs and many pulled ones.The second shaver function, on the back, does work to some degree and can even do a better job than the main blades at times, but still falls short of something I would put a price on.In regards to the actual constuction quality, by just removing the plastic blade cover it reveals a very weak structure and inadequate components.____________________________________ By all means do NOT buy this shaver.

No Wonder It Was On Clearance

I saw this at Marshall's in the clearance marked down from $19.99 to $5.00. I thought it wouldn't hurt to try...You are supposed to take the wand and push the end that has the sponge on it down into the end that has the serum (or whatever), then the product is supposed to come out of the sponge and you put it on your face. Well, I did as directed and nothing came out of the sponge. I pressed and pressed. I then cut open the little tube in hopes of getting the product out and I would just apply it with my fingers. The tube is so thin that nothing would shake out. I could see it in there - but it was not coming out. Wasted my five bucks.

Disappointed

Had been wanting to try this sunscreen especially for it's matte-finish. Was very disappointed. It left a good amount of white film on my skin wherever I used it. I don't know if it had anything to do with the fact that the product was somewhat close to it's expiration date. At the time, Amazon could not exchange it and gave me a refund. I ended up chucking the product. Disappointed in product, but not in Amazon!

Only sunscreen that I'll actually use daily

I have VERY fair skin and have always known that I need to apply sunscreen daily, but I've always made excuses not to because sunscreens are heavy, smell terrible, greasy, and sting my eyes if I start to sweat. I will actually wear this one though! It doesn't stink, absorbs quickly, doesn't run into my eyes or make my face greasy, and doesn't create the hideous glaring sunscreen shine. Even my t-zone doesn't get shiny! It's very gentle, too, and unlike most sunscreens I can apply a small amount (carefully, obviously) under my eyes to prevent dark circles, which can be made worse by sun exposure. Although this product is more expensive than most sunscreens, it is definitely worth the price because I will actually wear it!By the way, I have the definition of "normal" skin, not dry, not greasy, no acne, sometimes a slightly oily t-zone. I use a 3-step system (cleanser, toner, moisturizer) and in the morning I replace my moisturizer with this sunscreen. I don't know if it would mix well if I used it WITH a moisturizer, but I don't seem to need it.It feels so good to actually be wearing daily sunscreen, which is the best gift you can give to your skin!

I would give it 0 stars if I could

This is NOT, repeat, NOT the product to use if you a)use other products or b)want something non-greasy and light. I don't know if the previous reviewer has dry skin, but I have oily, acne-prone skin, and this seemed like a good way not to have to wear powder. I use Murad Acne products, and when they combined with this moisturizer, I ended up looking like a corpse. Worse, the product began to bead up and form large white clumps making my face look as though I had washed it in cottage cheese. This may be a good product for some, but I don't think you should use it if you're acne-prone.

The best sunscreen so far

I have dark spots in my face because of sun exposure. For almost two years I've being trying to find a sunscreen that does not make my skin feel greasy of shiny, this is it. Your skin feels as if it has nothing on it, it's perfect. At the time of the application you will need to apply it by parts, for example; first the face, later the neck, after that the arms and so on; because this sunscreen has a really matte finish and it will dry fast. The best sunscreen so far.
