This is my second time using MD Skin Alpha-Beta face wipes. I used them a few years ago and had great results (cleared my adult acne and evened my skintone), but I thought it was too expensive so I stopped. This time around, I'm just going to have to invest in my skin and may drop a shoe shopping trip or two, because my face has never been clearer. My skin tone is much more even and the blemished are almost gone completely. I'm not sure if this will work for all skin problems, but my friends and neighbors have asked me what I am using because the results are very evident. It works for me.

I've used this product for three years now. I do use it with the strips because it's just easier to get the wax off, although the directions says otherwise. I would test the wax before applying because it gets really hot. I normally have to microwave the wax more than once because the little jar cools really fast. The first time I microwave for two minutes. Then I microwave for 1 minute intervals after that. I normally wax my eyebrows approx. 12x/year. They stay looking fresh for approx. 3 weeks. I buy a jar of this a year so I'm approximating that if I paid Amazon price I'ld have eyebrow wax for 3 years which is a pretty good deal. You always have to practice caution when putting hot wax up to your face. As long as you practice caution, follow the instructions and plan your approach (hence the reason the wax gets cold again, maybe I should invest in a wax warmer) this wax will do what it's supposed to do.

Terrible wax, or terrible directions

I followed the microwave directions, and had to repeat many, many times before the wax melted at all. Once I applied the wax to my face, it was dried up before I even got the strip on! Don't bother with this product.

Description

Alpha-hydroxy acids are commonly found and isolated from fruits of all sorts. That is why they are referred to as fruit acids. For example, malic acid is found in apples, citric acid can be isolated from most citrus fruits and glycolic acid is commonly found in honey and sugar cane. Lactic acid is found in milk that has soured and Tartaric acid can be isolated from fermented grapes (wine). . Glycolic acid works as an exfoliating agent because of its high acidity but easy solubility. When placed on the skin as part of an exfoliating cream or gel, glycolic acid goes under the damaged upper layers of skin and destroys the 'glue', which holds dead skin to the surface. As this dead skin is chemically burned off, the other ingredients carry the individual flakes away and a water rinse neutralizes the remaining acid. The result is a much-smoother skin surface and a more youthful appearance. A secondary benefit is glycolic acid's ability to draw moisturizers into the newly exfoliated skin surface. One study showed that topical treatment twice a day for 3 months with 5% glycolic acid cream at pH 2.8 affected surface and epidermal changes, while the same treatment, but with a 12% cream reached deeper and influenced both the epidermis and the deeper dermis layer, and resulted in increased epidermal and dermal firmness and thickness. Both showed clinical improvement in skin smoothness and in the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Another study showed that AHAs might thin the outer stratum corneum, but actually end up increasing the overall thickness of the epidermis. This thickening is accompanied by increased synthesis of collagen. It is apparent that alpha-hydroxy acids may do more than just increase exfoliation and skin cell turnover

I like this. It really, really cleared up some of my acne. It wasn't a perfect product, but I did get some really good results. I use it every other day. I used to for three weeks before I got results. As soon as I started noticing results, it was immediate. Within 4 weeks, 85% of my ance was cleared.

good I guess

well I bought this product about 6 weeks ago and untill using it last night realized I was using it wrong. The directions say do not leave on for more than 5 minutes which I assumed meant wash it off. Not untill I looked on the back of the bottle did I see it said DO NOT RINSE OFF!! just apply the neutrilizer after 5 minutes. So I will update my prgress after 6 weeks of doing it the RIGHT WAY!!

I have had acne since my teens, I'm 31 and it got worse with the change in hormones. I have used every product out there including all the famous prescriptions. I bought this at a jewel osco when it was going out of business for $10. It worked a little by itself but not what I was looking for. After 6 months I tried it again because I was so frustrated that nothing is working. I used it every other day with my other benzoyl peroxide soap and differin gel. OMG! Every morning after I use it, my skin is softer the dark marks are fading. I love it! It just took the right combination of products, now I'm looking for more!

Made nothing for me

The product didn't help my acne at all! I've been dealing with acne for 21 years and still look for a way to get rid of it! After reading all the reviews here I decided to buy this product, but it did not work on my acne. Oh, well, each person is a person and the bodies will respond in different way to the same treatment. I wish good luck to whom it my interested.

Just a mess!

I am so sorry that I bought 6 of these items! If you want a messy hassle when you do your hair removal, then this is the product for you! I followed the directions carefully, but the wax took a lot longer to melt than the instructions indicated (45 seconds in the microwave). After about three minutes in which I checked it at 15 second intervals, the wax was soft enough to use. Then the real trouble began. The wax went on smoothly but wouldn't come off easily, so I had to pull it and try to get it off with cream and alcohol. My upper lip was red for several hours (I've never experiences this with any waxing I have had), and the small "strings" were everywhere. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT!

Don't waste your time and money on the little jars. The 4oz "Brazilian" is the same stuff it just says it's for "private parts". Lasts longer and more cost effective. Great stuff but don't buy the little jars.
