Calorie Restriction Science

Caloric restriction For Anti Aging

From the evolutionary point of view, skipping a meal here and there, it would be beneficial to human body. After all, the human body was designed to go days without eating anything. In today's society we have constant access to food and we are taking in calories all day. Calorie restriction is also known as anti-aging diet, but is based on the theory that by eating fewer calories will be able to slow the aging process.

A 2006 article in the Journal of American Medical Association suggests that by periodically restricting caloric intake as only 890 calories a day, or fasting, resulted in lower insulin levels and body temperature, two biomarkers of longevity. Restricting calories helps to eliminate free radicals burning more calories than you take in thus reducing the amount of fat stored in the human body.

During a research study conducted in 1934, Clive McCay and Mary Crowell used calorie restriction diets to determine the effects on the aging process. They found that when rats were fed with all the necessary nutrients, but the calories in the diet were drastically reduced, the rats at the level two times higher than rats that was not on this specialized diet. These results prove consistent in all animals tested.

Tests in higher primates are currently underway, but due to its long life results do not yet exist. Some tests are also conducted in human volunteers and again, because to the long life of our species, carrying out these tests are sill.

The anti aging diet requires the person who restrict their diet greatly. Eat a diet that is full of fruits, vegetables, fish and chicken is a way to start. Avoid processed foods and certain fats have been shown to improve the overall health of a person. A specialized diet is required for calorie restriction diet. It's not just crop a meal here and there. This brings up the possible danger of not getting the necessary nutrients a person needs to live in a healthy way.

Vitamins and over the counter products can help with aging, such as vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E and antioxidants.

Up to one third of older people can no longer absorb Vitamin B from their food. All pensions different as a whole and vitamin B-complex work together as a team to perform vital biological processes, such as energy production and function metabolic efficiency. Levels of vitamin B boost energy and help fight fatigue.

Vitamin C is nature's protective nutrient, essential for defend the body against pollution and infection and enhances the bodies immune system. Take 1,000 to 5,000 mg a day.

Vitamin D is manufactured in the skin after direct exposure to the sun. Many studies show that decreased production of vitamin D in the elderly and those who leave. Vitamin D is necessary for the body to absorb calcium, which makes your bones stronger and helps prevent factures.

Vitamin E supplies oxygen to the heart and muscles in the body. Accelerates healing wound and AIDS in the functioning of the immune system.

Antioxidants can neutralize free radical by pairing up or binding with the elections of free radicals thus inhibiting them from damaging cells in the human body. Natural antioxidants are abundant in fruits and vegetables, eg apples, blueberries, broccoli, cherries, blueberries, grapes, spinach, spirulina and blue-green algae.

Description

CR Mimetic Longevity Formula, 60 vegetarian capsules 01429 In 2003, the Life Extension Foundation® introduced a standardized extract of resveratrol, a natural compound shown to favorably alter genes implicated in the aging process— many of the same genes that respond to calorie restriction or CR. In 2009, we introduced pterostilbene, a compound whose effects were found to work in synergy with resveratrol to activate your “ longevity genes.” This year, we advanced the field even further, bringing together the 5 known calorie restriction mimetics in a single, high potency formula: resveratrol, pterostilbene, quercetin, grape seed polyphenols, and black tea extract. Now we announce the latest innovation in the science of longevity with new CR Mimetic Longevity Formula featuring fisetin. This little-known flavonoid is the sixth compound shown to simulate a similar youthful gene expression pattern as calorie restriction— without significant dietary modification. In the most exciting development to date, this novel compound (fisetin) may also enhance the effects of resveratrol. Life Extension® has gone to extraordinary lengths to identify compounds that simulate calorie restriction’ s ability to trigger youthful gene expression— the process by which genes transmit signals that slow certain aspects of aging. For example, previous research funded by Life Extension showed that a combination of low-dose (20 mg) resveratrol plus grape seed extract induced many of the favorable gene expression changes observed in calorie-restricted animals. A comprehensive review of the scientific literature further revealed that certain compounds found in berries, such as pterostilbene, also possess potent “ longevity gene” activators that work in synergy with resveratrol. Most abundant in strawberries, fisetin has the power to “ switch on” powerful cell signaling molecules that support youthful gene expression, DNA protection, and he
